My approach is holistic and client centered which is tailored to suit your individual needs for optimum benefit.  Helping you discover the direction you want to take in life helps to enable goals to be set which will improve well-being in multiple areas of your life. Finding your 'best fit' therapy, we can start your journey of discovery towards increased well-being, goals, personal or professional development/wellness.

Counselling and psychotherapy offering individual or relationship counselling using mindfulness or any of the following therapies:

MBCT (Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy)

This approach allows the client to accept the feelings they are experiencing and to encourage change of those thoughts and behaviours rather than suppressing them, for it is widely reported that “As with rumination, the effects of avoidance are predominately negative". Attempts to suppress negative thoughts, for example, have been shown to paradoxically increase the frequency of intrusions rather than reduce them.

ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)

ACT is a behavioural therapy and incorporates ideas from Eastern philosophies as well as elements of a number of Western therapies such as CBT, Narrative therapy, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), and Hypnotherapy.  The central principal of this therapy is based upon 'taking action'. By accepting what is in our control and what is not in our control, we can be encouraged to take action that leads to a fulfilling and meaningful life.

NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)

Neuro relates to whats happening in your mind.

Linguistic refers not only to the words you use in your communication but also your      body language and how you use it.

Programming tackles the persistent patterns of behaviour, both effective and ineffective, that you learn and then repeat.

CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy uses a variety of combinations of verbal interventions and behaviour modification techniques to assist in changing maladaptive patterns of thinking.

IPT (Interpersonal Therapy)

Interpersonal Therapy recognises the importance of the current interpersonal world in the client symptoms and their mood, and links the mental health disorders to any relationship issues such as grief, disputes, life changing event and social skills. (From LLCC by Cate Howell)

Equine Assisted Therapy

Equine Assisted Therapy aims to support and build the skills needed to develop appropriate responses to our emotions. This helps develop healthy relationships, our problem solving skills and normal functioning. It is a therapeutic model that assists people to face their fears and overcome their anxiety that can immobilise or undermine our healthy decision making processes.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) defines the physiology and anatomy of the craniosacral system, its function in health and its relationship to disease processes. This has the potential of providing dramatic help to a significant number of issues which conventional medicine may have proven to be less effective. Many people suffer from dysfunctions and diseases of unknown etiology and in some cases CST can be the change that is needed. CST involves the practitioner seeing the individual as an integrated totality.

Meditation

The concept of 'MetaPhysical Fitness'- the idea that meditating is similar to physical fitness in as much that you have to work at either one continuously if you want to stay in good mental or good physical shape.

Reiki

Reiki healing incorporates accessing and balancing our Chakra systems which are doorways for our consciousness. They are doorways through which emotional, mental and spiritual force flow into physical expression. To understand the Chakras' and their relationship to our consciousness is to better understand ourselves. With the majority of healing's your body has its own innate consciousness whereby it responds and repairs when ready.

Bach Flower Remedies

There are 38 Bach Flower remedies which can assist us with our emotional and physical well-being.  These essences help to balance and harmonise our system assisting us in returning to a state of well-being. These remedies can be combined with crystal essences once a consultation has taken place to assess your personal needs.

*Should clients require Bach Flower remedies these will be offered in addition to support the therapeutic process along with crystal essences if required*
